Why It Matters

Compliance shouldn't cost you time or money

In today's world of ever-increasing regulation, compliance is complicated and it can get expensive fast. That's why I started NYN20. I come to you and inspect and calibrate your nitrous oxide flowmeters on site, making sure they meet every safety standard set by the manufacturer, so you never have to ship equipment out for service.

I recommend a two-year cycle for factory-checking and calibrating your nitrous oxide flowmeters. It keeps them performing properly and cuts down on the chance of a major repair down the road.

The Equipment

What a nitrous oxide flowmeter setup looks like

An analgesia flowmeter blends nitrous oxide and oxygen at precise, controlled ratios, this is the equipment I inspect and calibrate on every NYN20 visit.

Why calibration matters

The flowmeter's Nitrous and Oxygen dials control exactly how much of each gas reaches the patient, and the failsafe system is what guarantees oxygen never drops below a safe minimum. On every visit, I check that those dials, gauges, and valves are all reading and performing exactly as the manufacturer intends, on portable cart setups like this one just as much as fixed wall-mounted systems.

The Inspection

What happens during a visit

Every NYN20 visit runs through a full safety check of your flowmeters:

  • 1 Function of the non-rebreathing valve
  • 2 Emergency air valve operation
  • 3 Oxygen valve leak check
  • 4 N2O failsafe system check
  • 5 Power O2 flush test
  • 6 Quick disconnect test
  • 7 Four-point flow test (proper O2 & N2O flow)
